The second month of summer is the hottest, which is true for the entire country. However, it can be relatively cool in mountainous areas. Let’s take a look at the weather in July in different regions of Armenia.

Weather in July in Armenian cities
Average values for July of the previous year for three main cities of Armenia from different parts of the country: Yerevan, Gyumri and Vanadzor.
Weather in Yerevan in July
July in Yerevan is one of the hottest months of the year: the peak is at the end of July and the first half of August. At this time, the average temperature in the city is +29 °C during the day and +24 °C at night. In practice, however, the thermometer often — sometimes even too often and too high — exceeds +30 °C: for example, in the middle of July, it is not uncommon for the temperature to reach +37 °C at midday. At night, the temperature is usually between +20 and +30 °C. By mid-summer, the daily temperature fluctuations that are so characteristic of Yerevan become less noticeable, so even at night it can be stuffy. The air is also dry, with humidity around 20–30%.
Aridity is another feature of the Armenian capital. There is little precipitation throughout the year, but in July it becomes critical: there is often a clear lack of good rain. On average, 17 mm of precipitation falls per month, with 1–2 days of light rain possible, and that’s it.
The wind is also quite weak and not at all refreshing: on average 3 m/s, but it is much more pleasant when it blows at a speed of at least 10 m/s, especially in the evening.
When planning what to wear in Yerevan in July, be sure to check the latest weather forecast and bring comfortable summer clothes, sun hats, and sunscreen. At midday, the sun is too strong, so it is better to see the sights in the morning and late afternoon, and in the afternoon you can take a siesta with a clear conscience.
