Why you should come to Yerevan?

Yerevan panoramic from Cascade
Yerevan panoramic view and Cascade

Yerevan is the capital of sunny Armenia, the business, cultural, political and economic center of Transcaucasia. Situated in the fertile Ararat Valley, 1000 meters above sea level, Yerevan is by many measures the most. The oldest, the most cheerful, the most hospitable, the pinkest.

It got the adjective “pink” for a reason. All thanks to architect Alexander Tamanyan, a town planner who came up with a brilliant project. Almost a hundred years ago it was decided to “dress” the main avenues, highways and squares of the Armenian capital in pink tuff – the main stone of the republic.

Take a walk to the Grand Cascade – the city’s landmark, an open-air museum and a viewpoint of the capital. Overcome all 550 steps, this heroic act will be rewarded at face value with a magnificent panorama of Yerevan overlooking Ararat.

This magnificent snow giant is the main symbol of the republic. Located nowadays on Turkish territory, Ararat is nevertheless perfectly visible from many corners of Armenia.

The top steps of the Cascade, the ruins of the Zvartnots temple, and the observation decks of the cathedrals of ancient Echmiadzin are excellent vistas to explore. But if you plan to act for sure, go to the mountain monastery of Khor Virap. The entire history of the planet’s first Christians is recorded on these stones.
